Hello, I am very happy such forum exists. I hope more people will join in near future.
Looking for anyone who had to minimize work or leave his/her job for sanity. Do you have any regrets or advice?
Thanks in advance.

Money isn’t everything and you always find a way to live within your means. Your mental health comes before your bank balance.

I did few months ago. It is such a peace of mind. I do not regret it but still I sometimes think if that was the correct decision. I miss having a steady income.

I got fired just over 6 months ago, but it turned out to be the best gift ever!

I manage a Pilates studio, and I used to open the studio every morning with an instructor @ 5:30am. I’d stay after to work once classes were over. I’m also here 6 days a week, and I’ve never taken a vacation in the (almost) two years I’ve been here since we opened our doors. Despite me being able to work out when I want, I’m still overworked. I get home mentally drained from dealing with members and issues all day. Recently, I’ve stopped opening and I go in around 8am. I’m now working on my Pilates certification so I can open up my own little studio and be my own boss eventually. I now take off days here and there to decompress at home AND I take breaks at work. I used to go hours without eating or even drinking water. I would just get caught up with one thing after another, and wanted to get it all knocked out so I could lock up and go home. That’s all wrong. You have to take care of your mental health, and put yourself first or you’ll work yourself to the ground…as I had been doing.
