It might seem simple but how do you keep your house clean and organized all the time? Do you constantly clean? Have a schedule? Help!0

The most important thing is teach every family member, “A place for everything, and everything in its place.” That was the rule when I was growing up, and I still do it. If one child takes down a box of cereal and leaves it on the counter, another takes off his shoes and socks leaving them in the living room floor, etc it won’t be long before the house is a disaster. Just don’t put anything down where it doesn’t belong.+1

All I know for sure is some people are made for tidiness and organizing. Others are more the creative kind of messy kind of people. And sometimes people are just not tidy at all. I suggest you find out which one you are and learn to love that person because I beat myself up so many times because I just was never able to be Martha Stewart, and my family are pigs.
Pick your battles and realize that nobody wants to have written on her tombstone ” wow, she was a really great housekeeper ”0

We clean as we go.
Don’t go to bed with a dirty house, wake up to a fresh start.
Dishes do not live in sinks. We wash and put away immediately.
Laundry does not live in baskets. As soon as there’s a full load, we do it and put it away.
I have 3 kids (13, 10, 3) who homeschool and help with homesteading.
When they were younger I was overwhelmed until I realized how little time it took for each specific job.
Id teach a kid to do it start to finish. Set a timer. Beatthe timer? Reward. Now, it’s no big deal. It’s habit for all of us.
One day a week, we all pitch in for a deep clean and we’re done in 90 min.+1

House stays messy…
I live here, life is messy.
One of the nicest things my mil said to me once when she came to visit. I said, I’m so sorry the house is a mess mom,.. she said.. you live here, if it was spotless, I’d be worried about you!’+1
